Jack Hanna, Brian Hare, PhD, announced as 2018 keynotes

Petfood Forum representatives have announced that Jack Hanna and Brian Hare, PhD have been selected as the keynote presenters for the next edition of the global pet food industry’s largest event. Each presentation will include unique insights on the speaker’s area of expertise, which both include animals.

On April 24, 2018, Jack Hanna, conservationist and television personality, will kick off the conference and exhibition with fascinating details of his globetrotting experiences and inspirational stories that deal with issues of conservation, travel and wildlife. Hanna’s keynote will also feature some of his animal friends as special guests.

Jack Hanna is the host of two award-winning television shows, “Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild” and “Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown,” and has also appeared on shows such as “Good Morning America,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Larry King Live,”, to name a few. Formerly director of the Columbus Zoo, Hanna led improvements to the zoo grounds, animal habitats, and staff morale helping to increase attendance and local involvement. He now serves as director emeritus of Columbus Zoo and The Wilds.

To close the event, Brian Hare, PhD, scientist, New York Times bestselling author and co-founder of Dognition.com will discuss his recent research on canine cognition and his work determining dogs’ individual cognitive styles. Specifically, Hare will reveal insights on the thinking, learning and problem-solving strategies that influence dogs’ behavior, and the nature of the bond between dogs and people.

Hare is associate professor of evolutionary anthropology at Duke University in North Carolina and a core member of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience. He has published over 100 scientific papers and authored a number of books, including The Genius of Dogs, a New York Times bestseller written with his wife, Vanessa. Together they also founded the citizen science company Dognition.com.
